Privacy Policy
This page is maintained by the LockIn team. Last updated: July 3, 2026.
1. Information you give us
When you sign up, we collect your name and email address. When you create a LockIn, we store your goal, deadline, stake amount, donation category, chosen proof type, and any partner details you enter. When you submit proof, we store the image, link, or text you uploaded.
2. Information collected automatically
We collect basic technical information needed to operate the app — for example, browser type, session identifiers, and events like signing in or activating a LockIn — so we can keep the app running and improve it.
3. How we use information
We use your information to run your LockIns, remind you of deadlines, verify your proofs, settle stakes, and communicate with you about your account. We use aggregated, de-identified activity to show public totals on the Impact page.
4. Payment information
Payment details are handled by our payment processor. LockIn does not store your full card number. We keep a reference to the authorization so that stakes can be released or captured according to the outcome of your LockIn.
5. Sharing information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with service providers that help us operate LockIn (hosting, payments, email delivery) and only to the extent needed for those services. If you add an accountability partner, that partner receives your name, the goal, the deadline, and — if you enable it — the proof you submit.
6. Donation payouts
Donation totals and recipient organizations are published on the Impact page, along with how amounts are calculated from each failed LockIn.
7. Retention
We keep your account information while your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we need to keep records for legal, accounting, or fraud-prevention reasons.
8. Your choices
You can update your name and email in the app, delete individual LockIns before they are activated, and request account deletion through in-app support. Depending on your location, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws.
9. Security
We use standard technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure; if you believe your account has been compromised, contact the LockIn team immediately.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated date.
